In december 1948 this recording (catalogue number 825677) marked the 25th anniversary of big ben’s broadcasting career. Because the recording was made inside the tower there’s plenty of intriguing mechanical detail in addition to the tolling of the quarter bells and the 13-ton great bell. Big ben is the unofficial name for the great bell. I recorded this at sunrise in a breeze with a digital recorder close the tubular bells of a large wind chime, about 4 to 5 feet, you can hear birds in the background, a crow close by, minimal background noise. Request a loop if you want to use this for meditation.

Bell ringers practising in marsden, west yorkshire. Untreated audio. A long silence has been recorded after the bells stop to enable noise removal. There is a some barely audible, infrequent, traffic noise and there are a few barely audible footsteps. Recorded on a roland r05 with wolf windshield.

Jingling 2-4 sleigh bells in a couple patterns. Recorded using a blue yeti microphone at 16-bit 48000hz in audacity. I isolated the samples i liked and left a small gap of silence between them for separation later. Attribution appreciated but not required.

The first sample is the purest, with the last two i *attempted* some dampening, but the difference is really inaudible. Recorded with zoom h6 (xy capsule), minimal processing done (loudness normalization, slight panning rebalance, hi-pass @ 40hz).
